About 20 years ago I had a professional options trader phone me from Montreal.

After all his career told me the best investment he ever made was BNS's DRIP + SPP.

He'd obviously been at it for awhile but his ACB was $2.50/share paying $1.60/yr in dividends.

Since then BNS has split twice I believe and how many dividend increases?????

In mid 2008 I bought a small amount of each of the big six banks and have held it ever since (even through March 2009). By far the worst performer when I add total dividends plus capital gains is BNS. Not sure why numerous talking heads on TV keep picking it. Some other banks are twice the total return (Note: My numbers do not include dividend reinvestment for any of the banks)
